Product Description
The MAD160C-0200-SA-S0-BG0-05-R1 is an asynchronous servo motor. In this motor design, the rotor and the stator, which have two coils or poles enclosed, are responsible for rotating the shaft of the motor. Since this motor has two poles, it can help vary the speed of the shaft by adjusting the frequency of the input voltage to the coil. This is necessary for applications that require a controlled speed, such as drilling and CNC milling machines, to prevent over-drilling. This machine features a smooth shaft, which is great for torque transmission but will require the correct gear size.
The MAD160C-0200-SA-S0-BG0-05-R1 can also be used in robotics applications where the position of the shaft is very important. This motor has a single-turn absolute encoder with 512 increments per revolution. The encoder resolution can be increased by opting for the S2 configuration of the motor, further increasing the resolution to 2048 increments per revolution to help increase position accuracy. To connect the power cable and the encoder, the MAD160C-0200-SA-S0-BG0-05-R1 features a connection port on its backside to help keep the wiring neat and clean and to prevent them from accidentally winding up with the shaft during operation.
To keep the motor cool, the MAD160C-0200-SA-S0-BG0-05-R1 features an axial blower fan. However, users can attach an external fan mounted on the rear of the motor to further help with cooling down the motor during heavy load operation. It is always recommended to consult the manual for the motor to select the right fan size for your motor. The manufacturer also recommends installing this motor on a flange mount at a maximum height of 1000 meters above sea level to prevent overtime degradation of the motor.
