Product Description
The MAD160C-0200-SA-M2-BK1-05-N1 is an industrial motor which belongs to the MAD series of Rexroth Indramat Bosch. It has a multi-turn absolute encoder with 2048 increments. Multi-turn absolute encoder is used to measure the position of a shaft and the number of revolutions. While incremental encoders, can only track the position of the shaft in a single revolution, an absolute encoder (multiturn) can record the position of the shaft even in multiple revolutions and is capable of returning to the initial position even after power failure. The 2048 increments mean that the encoder can measure specific positions for multiple revolutions with a high degree of resolution. This monitors and regulates rotary systems in applications such as robotics, industry automation, and computer numerical control devices.
The working principle of the multi-turn absolute encoder involves a combination of mechanical and electrical components. It combines both the angular position of the shaft which is measured in degree or radian and the turns made by the shaft. This is done by a system of gears and an electronic counter which keeps a record of the number of revolutions. When power is switched on again after power loss, the encoder reveals the position of the shaft for accurate position feedback, which is suitable in industrial operations that demand precise and continuous position information.
Standard bearings are crucial for maintaining the proper functioning of the motor. These bearings help to minimize friction between the different rotating components to assist in vibration-free rotation and improve overall performance. These bearings help in the even distribution of load on the motor's components to ensure they are in proper positions and this is very important as it protects the motor components such as the encoder from stress.
