Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s MAD motors are induction motors with permanently connected fan units and squirrel-cage rotors. They have high continuous ratings and compact dimensions and are mainly used as main and servo drives for all rotary driving tasks.
The MAD160C-0150-SL-S2-RG0-35-V1 is one of the asynchronous motors in Bosch Rexroth’s MAD series. It has several protective features, including two integrated KTY84-130 thermal sensors permanently installed in its winding. They trigger protective mechanisms at 110°C and 120°C, protecting the motor from irreversible damage due to thermal overload. The motor is also sealed, having an Ingress Protection of IP 65, according to IEC 60529. This means it is touch-proof, dustproof, and safe from multidirectional water jets. It is also safe for use under harsh environmental conditions. Its housing is covered with black paint with impressive resistance against the effects of water, seawater, sewage, diluted acids, and lyes. It can accommodate a maximum current of 152.6A and reaches a maximum speed of 6,000 revolutions per minute.
There are reinforced bearings in the MAD160C-0150-SL-S2-RG0-35-V1 for absorbing high radial forces. These bearings with a mechanical service life of 30,000 operating hours, consist of a cylindrical roller bearing in addition to a deep groove ball bearing on side A. The deep groove ball bearings in the motor permit high rotational speeds and prevent energy losses by producing minimal friction. This MAD model is equipped with a single-turn absolute encoder with the EnDat 2.1 interface. It generates sine/cosine signals (1 Vss) with 2,048 periods per revolution and absolute period assignment within one revolution. The encoder’s data memory stores parameters required for commissioning the motor, ensuring its rapid startup.
