Product Description
The MAD160C-0150-SA-S2-AQ5-05-N1 Asynchronous motor is a 1500 rotations per minute Asynchronous motor capable of generating torque of up to 215 Nm. This AC servo motor operates on 240 Volts AC to 480 Volts AC on a 3-phase configuration and requires an input frequency of 50 Hz to 60 Hz. The motor has a power rating of 33.8 kW and a current rating of 75.3 Amperes, making it electrically demanding, hence a power supply that can provide up to 80 amperes of current would be much more efficient to use with this motor.
This motor has a cooling fan attached to the front of the motor, which helps blow in cool air to cool down the coils of the motor when under heavy load operation. The coils may get hot due to the resistance of the motor, which is 0.36 ohms when the motor is fresh out of the packaging but may increase over time. The motor has a torque to current ratio of 3.36 Nm of torque for every ampere of current the motor draws. This motor has a simple two-pole design, which makes the wiring configuration much easier for the operator.
The MAD160C-0150-SA-S2-AQ5-05-N1 features a single turn absolute encoder that uses the EnDat 2.1 digital encoder interface to send data over to the controller in data packets with a CRC error checking feature. The error detection feature is a very important feature to help transfer accurate data over serial transfer to prevent the motor from operating using erroneous data, causing damage to itself or harming the surroundings. For safe operating procedures, please refer to the manual or the manufacturer's website for more information.
