The MAD160C-0150-SA-S2-AH1-35-N1 uses a single turn absolute encoder which can rotate its shaft with accuracy thanks to the 2048 increment resolution as the motor counts 2048 increments for one complete 360-degree rotation. For each angle rotation, the control module and the encoder count approximately 5.7 increments. The higher number count per angle gives this motor the advantage of better precision. This encoder also uses the EnDat 2.1 digital encoder interface like the other motors in the series due to its reliable communication capability. The EnDat 2.1 is an efficient serial communication method that runs on the master-slave configuration with the asynchronous motor being the slave while the compatible motor controller is the master.

This motor features an axial blower fan attached to the rear of the motor which blows the air right into the chassis of the motor cooling it down. The motor has a thermal time constant of 20 minutes which is excellent as it can help cool down the motor and regulate the motor's temperature in under 20 minutes. This is great for applications that generate a lot of heat such as high-speed drilling when the coils or the poles of the motor tend to get hot quickly.
