The MAD160C-0150-SA-S2-AG1-05-V1 from Rexroth is an IndraDyn A series Asynchronous AC servo motor designed to provide a high torque of 215 Nm at nominal conditions. This motor has a spinning speed of up to 1500 rpm, which can further increase with the help of very high-speed bearing all the way up to 6000 rpm, making the motor perfect for drilling applications as well. The motor requires 200 to 480 Volts AC to operate and has a power rating of 33.8 kW. It has a current rating of 75.3 Amperes while in normal operating mode and can draw up to 77.8 Amperes of current in standstill mode. To keep the motor from overheating, the MAD160C-0150-SA-S2-AG1-05-V1 comes with an axial blower fan that helps the motor coil cool down easily.
This motor has a diameter of 160 mm and weighs 233 kg, making the motor both compact and heavy-duty in design. This motor comes with an IP 65 protection rating to provide protection against dust and moisture when the motor is installed in an extreme industrial environment where the motor may end up coming in contact with dirt and water splashes of low level.
The motor should be installed in a well-ventilated room with an ambient temperature between 0 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius, and using the flange mounting option, this motor should only be mounted at a maximum height of 1000 meters above sea level. Moving it further up in distance may affect its rated specification. The manufacturer recommends maintaining the motors every 30,000 cycles by replacing the bearings as well as adding lubrication oil to the motor's internals for optimum performance.
