Product Description
The MAD160B-0200-SA-S2-RK0-05-A1 from Rexroth is a fan-cooled AC Asynchronous motor designed for high-torque applications. This motor has a torque rating of 160 Nm which is enough for applications that require heavy load rotation or lifting. Since the motor produces a very high torque it consumes approximately around 75 Amperes of current and hence would require a power supply with such high output capability. The motor has a rated speed of 2000 rpm while under unusual conditions, this motor can derate its speed to 1500 rpm.
Due to its rotor inertia torque of 0.24 kgm², the motor can accelerate and decelerate quickly in the blink of an eye making this motor great for quick speed regulation. At a maximum speed of 6000 rpm, this motor can produce a maximum torque of 385 Nm which is more than double compared to its rated torque rating of 160 Nm. To help cool the motor down to its operating temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, the MAD160B-0200-SA-S2-RK0-05-A1 features an axial fan with a blowing configuration that blows the air out of the front of the motor. This axial blower fan has a voltage rating of 400 volts AC with a 3-phase configuration and consumes between 83 to 100 watts of power.
Talking about tracking the movements of the shaft, the MAD160B-0200-SA-S2-RK0-05-A1 features a single-turn absolute encoder that has 2048 increments. This encoder uses the EnDat 2.1 digital encoder interface, which not only helps with efficient communication between the control module and the motor but also helps debug errors by sending error codes. With a higher number of increments, an encoder is much more precise with the shaft rotation and placement.
