Part of the MAD series of Asynchronous servo motors, the MAD160B-0150-SA-M2-AH3-05-N1 is a 185 Nm servo motor that has a speed rating of 1500 rotations per minute. This servo motor is designed for high torque applications where rotational force of a larger magnitude is required in order to operate a particular machine. This servo motor can be used for gearbox operation as well as for drilling purposes since it has a maximum speed rating of 6000 rotations per minute.
The motor comes with a multiturn absolute encoder that has a resolution of 2048 steps that helps with precisely moving the shaft of the motor, which is beneficial for robotics applications where accurate shaft positioning is very important. This shaft comes with a plane smooth shaft that is balanced with the entire key, making it perfect for load-bearing as it spreads the load uniformly, reducing radial stress and preventing the shaft from breaking off during high-speed rotation or bending.
This motor also comes with a 240 Nm holding brake that requires 24 volts DC to operate and has a current rating of 1.87 Amperes. The brake has a moment of inertia of 0.0188 kgms² and the maximum permissible braking energy is 70000 Ws. This brake has a disengagement time of 300 ms, while the engagement time is approximately 30 ms, allowing for a quick response time. The brake helps prevent the shaft from spinning freely in the case of power loss or, when in operation, it prevents the shaft from slipping when a heavy load is attached to it. This motor comes with an IP 65 Ingress protection rating to protect it against dust and moisture.
