Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s air-cooled MAD motors are a group of highly efficient induction motors in its IndraDyn A family. They come in various sizes, generating different torques and reaching different speeds to aid application specific-use.
The MAD160B-0100-SA-S2-BG0-05-N4 is a Bosch Rexroth MAD asynchronous box motor with two pole pairs designed to reach a maximum speed of 6,000 revolutions per minute. It is cooled via a system comprising a mounted axial fan whose air currents are guided across the surface of the motor by air baffles. This surface cooling system is energy-efficient, working with heat transfer across a temperature gradient. The MAD motor’s output shaft is plain, providing a non-positive, non-floating shaft-hub connection with zero backlash. It also promotes the motor’s smooth running and has a sealing ring designed per DIN 3760 - Design A. Thanks to its inbuilt KTY84-130 thermal sensors, the servo motor is safe from irreversible damage due to thermal overload.
Due to its easy-to-service structure, the MAD160B-0100-SA-S2-BG0-05-N4 has minimal maintenance requirements. Its housing coat is a black prime varnish with impressive resistance against diluted acids, lyes, water, seawater, and sewage. It is also sealed, having an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65 according to IEC 60529. This means it is touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to multidirectional water jet sprays. Its housing design also allows its operation under adverse environmental conditions without the risk of damage. The encoder system in this MAD model is a single-turn absolute encoder with the EnDat 2.1 interface. It also features standard-type bearings consisting of deep-groove ball bearings for absorbing low to medium radial and axial forces. They have a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours.
