The asynchronous motors of the MAD series are designed to be used in industries for printing, packaging, metal forming, and paper processing machines. Asynchronous motors have a high efficiency, which can be further increased with proper construction and operation. The motor operates asynchronously because there is a difference between the rotor and stator's flux current, so it never reaches its maximum rotating magnetic field speed. In an asynchronous motor, the value of slip is always greater than zero and less than one.

As a rotational position sensor, the multiturn encoder counts the number of full rotations (Turn Count) and angles ranging from 0 degrees to 360 degrees.

The motor has highly sensitive PTC (positive temperature coefficient) thermosensors that increase the resistance as the temperature of the motor increases.
