Rexroth’s MAD motors offer continuous high driving performance that can endure poor environmental conditions. MAD motors are specifically known for their efficient blower fans that maintain a favorable machine temperature during operation. And as far as MAD motor series are concerned, the MAD100 motor family serves well for standard industrial purposes. Under the MAD100 family, motors may have any of the following frame sizes: B, C, and D. The motor frame sizes determine the motor’s overall dimension, output capabilities, and weight. Size B motors are the most compact and are best for high-speed applications. Meanwhile, size D motors provide high torque output at the cost of a lower speed rating. 

The MAD100C-0250-SA-S2-BH0-05-H1 is a Rexroth MAD motor with a frame type of 100 and a size of C. It has three pole pairs and a net weight of 59 kilograms. When measured from the drive side up to the rear side, the MAD100C-0250-SA-S2-BH0-05-H1 has a total length of 537 mm. Based on its nameplate, the line current of this motor model during operation is 27.8 amperes. To accommodate this current rating, Rexroth’s datasheet recommends a minimum power wire cross-section of 4 sq. Mm.  Using a power wire with a smaller cross-section might lead to overheating and inefficient power transmission. 

At a rated power of 10.47 kW, the MAD100C-0250-SA-S2-BH0-05-H1 transmits a torque rating of 40 Nm. During this rated condition, the output shaft revolves at 2500 rpm. Because of its high-speed bearing, this motor model's maximum speed is 11000 rpm. For applications requiring high torque throughput, the MAD100C-0250-SA-S2-BH0-05-H1 can transmit a peak torque of 91 Nm. Fine-tuning the motor’s operating point is a must to meet certain loading requirements. As a general rule of thumb, the speed tends to decrease as the motor’s torque increases.
