Product Description

The MAC160C-0-ED-2-F/250-R-0 is a motor with a lot of industrial applications like punching, pressing, press feeds, or similar ones. This is an AC servo motor produced by Indramat. To have a backlash-free application with this motor when it is suddenly stopped. The motor is equipped with a holding brake. This brake has a permanent magnet which exerts a magnetic force on the armature disc of the motor and makes it stop from moving. This braking occurs when there is no power supplied to the brake. This means the brake is locked at zero current and is holding the rotational axis of the motor. When the motor is intended to rotate around its axial axis then a DC power of 24 volts is applied to it which cancels the original magnetic field and thus the brake releases and motor begins to move.

For the safety of the motor, it is recommended by the manufacturer that additional measures must be taken and not rely fully on the brake. The brake can wear down after 20000 revolutions of the motor while the brake is in an engaged state. The brake can be controlled using PLC or by using some external hardware switches.

When the motor is not used for time more than 2 years then it is recommended that the brake should be grinded before using it. To do that run the motor at about 100 rpm while keeping the brake closed. Keep doing this operation for about 60 seconds. The holding torque of this motor is more than 60Nm. There are different power connection options available for the user to choose from. These different options are side A, B, left, and right.
