Product Description
Part of the MAC series of servo motors, the MAC115A-0-FS-4-C/180-B-0/WA612XX/S001 from Rexroth is a 28 Nm servo motor with a nominal speed rating of 6000 rotations per minute. This particular configuration of MAC115A-0-FS comes with an absolute encoder that has a resolution of 1024 increments per rotation. This encoder operates on a 5-volt DC and draws approximately 30 mA of current to operate. The encoder generates a square wave pulse for every increment it counts, making the overall shaft positioning much more accurate and precise.
This motor comes with a motor winding resistance of 0.076 ohms, which is very low and hence leads to low power dissipation, making the overall design and operation of the motor much more efficient. To keep the motor cool during high power applications, the MAC115A-0-FS-4-C/180-B-0/WA612XX/S001 servo motor depends upon a natural convection cooling method that uses the air from the environment to cool itself. It is always recommended to install this motor in an environment with an ambient temperature between 0 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius so that the motor can operate much more efficiently without overheating.
The motor shaft comes with a special S001 configuration which is the keyway design per DIN 6885. This shaft design allows the motor shaft to attach and lock on a coupler to prevent the coupler from slipping off the shaft end. The keyway is a small butterfly-shaped slot that is inserted in order to keep the shaft and the coupler locked. The shaft also comes with a shaft sealing ring to prevent dust and moisture from creeping inside the motor housing and also to prevent lubrication oil from seeping out.
