Product Description
Rexroth Bosch's MAC112C-2-ED-3-C/130-A-0/S005 has an A-side power connection. These power connections include a three-phase AC that supplies the alternating current to the stator windings. This connection forms a strong magnetic field, fundamental to the operation of the motor. A side power connection provides the appropriate wiring alignment and the tight connection to provide uninterrupted electric current. Moreover, the connection on the A side is made properly to minimize problems such as electrical noise or grounding faults.
There is no holding brake in this motor. Holding brakes are normally applied to prevent motor movement when driving power is lost to maintain steady stability which is important in some industrial applications where holding a specific position is important. In those systems where constant motion is desirable, working without holding brake has certain advantages in convenience and energy conservation. With the release of the holding brake, the motor depends solely on the power supply to stay in a particular position while the torque is provided by a rotating magnetic field which is generated by the stator. It enables a free and unrestricted movement that is important at places where frequent or repeated alternation between start and stop motions is desirable.
The lack of a holding brake means that the overall working of the motor is less complicated, minimizes the motor's service requirements and provides better outcomes in certain conditions. However, there are operations where a motor without a holding brake should not be used, although it depends on certain application requirements, which means that a holding brake can become helpful when the operation is directly related to safety and when the holding capability is essential for the operation.
