Product Description
The MAC112C-0-HD-3-C/130-B-2/S033 manufactured by Rexroth Bosch is an induction motor. It is similar to a generator as it uses the principles of electromagnetic induction. In this AC type of motor, when AC passes through the stator it creates a rotary magnetic field which in turn induces rotation in the rotor. Torque is generated by the interaction of magnetic fields of the stator and rotor. However, the speed of the rotor is always behind the stator magnetic field, and this feature makes the motor, asynchronous.
These motors are ideal for industrial applications due to their construction, reliability and insusceptibility to common failures. The MAC112C motor has all the features of high torque, accurate control, and easy installation due to its centering diameter, making it a reliable motor for challenging industrial applications. One significant feature of this motor is a heavy-duty blocking brake (60 Nm) which is fixed on the shaft even when power is turned off. This brake fulfils a safety function by reducing all sorts of accidental motion, including swinging or rolling, for equipment like cranes, or robotics during a standstill.
The brake principally works by applying mechanical frictional force on the shaft of the motor in a similar way to the clamps. However, when electric power is applied, the brake allows the motor to rotate in the required direction. This holding brake is valuable in applications where positioning to a specific degree or holding a load is essential. The heavy-duty brake of 60 Nm torque keeps the motor safe by avoiding undesired movement when stopped which is important for operations such as crane and robotics that require accurate positioning and load retention.
