The MAC093B-0-OS-4-C/110-B-1/WI524LV from Rexroth is an industrial-grade Rapid Response AC servo motor that is to be used with the TDM, KDS, and DSC drive controllers. This particular model has the WI configuration which allows it to have an Incremental encoder with standard mounting. This motor has standard MAC093 specifications of 2000 rotations per minute speed with a continuous torque rating of 14.5 Nm. To quickly accelerate and decelerate its speed, the motor has a rotor torque inertia of 29 x 10-4 kgm².
The incremental encoder on this motor requires 5 volts DC to operate with a current consumption of 150 mA and relies on a square wave pulse signal for position detection and counting. The 524LV encoder on this motor counts 625 lines or pulses for one complete rotation of the shaft. Such a high number of pulses makes the positioning of the motor much more precise and accurate when it comes to applications that require high precision such as robotics.
To protect the motor from extreme environmental conditions such as dust particles and water jets, the MAC093B-0-OS-4-C/110-B-1/WI524LV features an IP 65 rating which is a standard for all the MAC AC servo motors. To help cool the motor, a natural convection design is applied to this motor that does not require any additional fans or cooling liquid and uses the environmental temperature for cooling. Installing this motor in a well-ventilated area is also recommended with a maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius to prevent it from overheating as it does not feature a cooling fan. This motor is designed to be installed at a maximum height of 1000 meters above sea level.
