Product Description
MAC motors may come in different sizes, frame types, windings, and other features. To better classify the motor products manufactured by Rexroth Bosch, Rexroth’s motors employ a naming convention, more commonly known as motor model type code. These type codes are different for every motor series, but in general, they provide important information about a specific motor immediately. Depending on the features of a particular motor, the product name will vary. For example, the MAC093A-1-PS-4-C/110-B-1/WA612XX/S005 is a specific motor model that combines unique characters that represent some of its most important features.
The MAC093A-1-PS-4-C/110-B-1/WA612XX/S005 belongs to the MAC motor series with a size A 093 frame. Instead of natural cooling, this motor model uses a set of axial fans for surface cooling. The motor's axial blower system requires a voltage of 230 volts during operation. Aside from its axial cooling system, the MAC093A-1-PS-4-C/110-B-1/WA612XX/S005 also has a PS-winding. Because of its winding construction, the motor reaches a nominal speed of 3000 rev/min. The motor also incorporates a Tacho feedback system with an encoder to monitor motor working parameters during operation. Based on the motor model, the MAC093A-1-PS-4-C/110-B-1/WA612XX/S005 also employs a standard blocking brake that can hold 6.5 Nm normally. Excluding the blocking brake, the motor's rotor moment of inertia is 0.0022 kg/m2.
Based on Rexroth’s project planning manual, the winding resistance and inductance of the MAC093A-1-PS-4-C/110-B-1/WA612XX/S005 are 0.659 ohms and 8 millihenries, respectively. These parameters directly affect the motor’s effective impedance during operation. The motor impedance affects how much current will flow, regardless of the operating condition. During stall/standstill operation, the current is 20 A, while the torque is 12 Nm. Surprisingly, the peak current of this motor may reach as high as 74 A, based on Rexroth’s documentation.
