Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s automation products are designed to give users a competitive edge by enhancing productivity. One of these products is the compact MAC AC servo motor with a high power-to-weight ratio.
The MAC090C-1-GD-3-C/110-A-1 is a model of the permanent magnet-excited MAC motors designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It has a rotor moment of inertia of 53 x 10-4 kgm2, with the permanent magnets of this rotor comprising rare-earth materials. Consequently, the servo motor has a low inertia and favorable torque-inertia ratio for a highly dynamic operation. Its low inertia means it has less mass to move, indicating that it can accelerate and decelerate relatively faster. The MAC model’s nominal speed is 3,000 revolutions per minute, while its centering diameter is 110mm. It is electronically commutated, resulting in a high cyclic load capacity that supports continuous start-stop operations with high repetitive frequencies. Its axial surface cooling mechanism also permits such operations.
Thermo switches monitor the temperature of the MAC090C-1-GD-3-C/110-A-1 and protect it from damage due to thermal overload. It is also protected from dust ingress and multidirectional water jet sprays by its IP-65-rated housing. This means its use directly within the working area of the machine even under poor environmental conditions poses minimal risks of damage. Its power, tacho feedback, and encoder cables are also designed to meet the IP 65 demands. To ensure its maintenance-free operation, the MAC model is equipped with bearings that remain lubricated throughout their service life, estimated at 30,000 operating hours. The design of its bearing assembly permits the application of high radial loads and the direct mounting of pinions and belt pulleys onto the shaft.
