MAC090B-0-PD-4-C/130-B-1/WI534LX/S006 is a convection cooled servo motor with IP65 rated housing. Convection cooling relies of good ventilation for heat dissipation. The motor delivers rated output if ambient temperature is kept between specified limits. The inner motor temperature is much higher than the ambient temperature, and excessive ambient temperatures can lead to motor failure or malfunction. According to the product documentation, the upper and lower ambient temperature limits are 0 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius. Housing of the motor is fully enclosed, which prevents dust and moisture ingress. As a result, operators can safely use the motor in a range of operating conditions. The motors must be stored in a dry, dust-free and shock-free environment. The permissible ambient temperature for storage is -25 to +85 degrees Celsius.
There are protective covers on the connector housing and on the output shaft. These are made of plastic and protect the parts they cover against moisture and damage. Bosch recommends not removing the protective covers until shortly prior to mounting the motor onto the machine. The MAC090B-0-PD-4-C/130-B-1/WI534LX/S006 has a nominal speed rating of 2000 RPM. Bosch has provided an optional blocking brake on the motor. This is a standard blocking brake rated for 6.5 Nm holding torque. A heavy-duty blocking brake, rated for 14 Nm, is also available for MAC090 motors. The motor is equipped with a tacho generator and supports tacho feedback for position and speed evaluation. It also features a mounted incremental or absolute encoder. The power cable carrying electrical power for the motor connects to a plug on side B of the servo motor housing. Shipping weight of the Bosch servo motor is approximately 18 kilograms.
