The MAC090A-0-RD-3-C/130-A-1/S009 from Rexroth is an AC servo motor that has a 130 mm centering diameter also known as the Pilot diameter. This motor has a length of 455 mm and a breadth of 90 mm and weighs approximately 12.5 kilograms. To attach the motor on a stable surface this motor supports flange type of mounting. This motor is designed for standard applications such as milling machines, lathe machines, textile machines, packaging machines, robotics, etc and can provide an output speed of 3000 rotations per minute under normal conditions.

To stop the motor from rotating when the power is cut off, the MAC090A-0-RD-3-C/130-A-1/S009 features a 6.5 Nm blocking brake which helps maintain a fix position of the shaft in the case of power loss or error. The brake requires 24 Volts DC constant supply to activate and takes up to 20 ms for the brake to clamp the rotating shaft and release it after a maximum delay of 60 ms. The brake itself has a mass of 0.5 kg.

To help move the shaft of the motor accurately, the MAC090A-0-RD-3-C/130-A-1/S009 features an incremental encoder with standard mounting. This encoder features an on-chip memory which helps it remember the last known position of the shaft in case of power loss. The motor also has a tachofeedback for speed control as well as a second shaft end in the rear for connecting a second encoder of choice for added accuracy. It is recommended by the manufacturer to operate the servo in an environment with an ambient temperature of less than 40 degrees Celsius to avoid overheating as this motor relies on natural convection rather than an axial or radial blower fan.
