For applications requiring the rotor to reliably stay in place for prolonged periods during operation, a motor with a heavy-duty blocking brake is ideal. Rexroth Bosch Indramat provides several options under its famous MAC AC servo motor series. Overall, the MAC AC motors by Rexroth come with six possible motor frames, each having their own set of dimensions and characteristics. Larger motor frames are more applicable for high-torque applications, while smaller motor frames are best for high-speed applications. The MAC071C-0-GS-4-C/095-B-2/WA608XX is a servo motor under the MAC071 motor family that comes with a heavy-duty blocking brake. 

When operated nominally, the MAC071C-0-GS-4-C/095-B-2/WA608XX drives at a speed of 6000 revolutions every 60 seconds. During the standstill mode of operation, also known as locked-rotor or stall, the torque output of the motor is 6.6 Nm. Since the heavy-duty blocking brake of this motor model can hold up to 6.5 Nm, the blocking brake may safely halt operation during normal driving conditions. During braking actuation, the brake requires 24 V (plus or minus 10%). The brake has a release and clamping delay of 60 ms and 20 ms, respectively. For this motor model, the holding brake's principle of action is electrically actuated release. 

The MAC071C-0-GS-4-C/095-B-2/WA608XX has a total frame length of 320 mm. Originally, the motor’s frame size was shorter than 320 mm, but because of the heavy-duty blocking brake, the motor’s length effectively became longer. Without the holding brake, this motor model weighs 11 kilograms. With the blocking brake, the MAC071C-0-GS-4-C/095-B-2/WA608XX has a total mass of 11.5 kilograms.
