Product Description
Bosch Rexroth is a reputable company that meets all industries automation needs. They are acclaimed in the production of top-tier drive controllers, motors, and other components that facilitate automation. However, for these devices to work appropriately, there needs to be a storage area where vital data is stored.
It is for this reason that Bosch came up with the IndraDrive MultiMediaCard. The MMCs are only compatible with Bosch Rexroth devices. One of the MMCs is the PFM02.1-016-NN-FW that comes with a maximum storage capacity of 512kb. While it is an advantageous component, it is not compulsory to have it on your drive.
That said, it enables seamless duplication of axis drive parameters without the need of a PC. The PFM02.1-016-NN-FW is applicable both as a temporary and permanent storage medium. As a temporary medium, it is primarily used as an update module.
It updates the firmware via command, transmits drive parameters and firmware to other drives for commissioning, saves the data after commissioning, and retrieves the original parameter status after the commissioning.
When used as a permanent storage medium, it serves as a programming module which holds the current axis-specific parameters and the current firmware thanks to its non-volatile memory. The PFM02.1-016-NN-FW commands can be started on the control panel of the drive making replacement of devices a piece of cake. Note: you should never use this Bosch MMC with modulo format drives or those with absolute value encoder. Before carrying out the firmware update, save the current parameters in an external data drive such as a hard disk, memory card, or any other device. Once that is done, update the firmware via a PC.
