The Rexroth HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW is a digital drive controller. It is a HDS series controller which is compatible with DIAX 04 drive family. The HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW is used for control of AC motors from Rexroth Indramat. A HDS controller has a modular architecture comprising of the basic unit which has slots for optional modules. The basic module has five slots, two of which are reserved and three of which are available for optional modules. Slot U1 is reserved for a command communications module and Slot U5 is reserved for the software module. Firmware for the HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW, which is installed on the software module, need to be ordered separately. The HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW comes from the factory with SERCOS command communications module. Plug in modules for the controller includes interface cards and digital I/O cards.

In the case of temperature, the HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW can be operated at up to 55 degrees Celisus but with output derating to 80% of rated values. Similarly for the case of altitude the HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW can be operated at up to 2000 meters altitude but with output derating to 85% of rated values. The HDS04.2-W200N-HT04-01-FW is meant to be installed and operated by trained personnel. Internal blower is provided on the controller to aid convection cooling.
