Rexroth Indramat DIAX04 intelligent drives have helped in upgrading the control of motors used in packaging, converting, printing, among other markets. By using Sercos, an internationally-recognized communication standard, drives in this series are able to communicate in real-time with other devices on the industrial network over a fiber-optic cable that is immune to noise. The Indramat DIAX04 family houses the Indramat HDS and HDD drive controllers. A HDS drive has a modular design that comprises of basic unit, a command communication module, software module, configuration type plate, and additional plug-in modules. Note that the command communication module can either be a Sercos interface or an analog interface.
The Indramat HDS02.1-W040N-HA02-01-FW is a servo drive in the DIAX04 family. It has an analog communication interface. The drive features a removable software module that contains the operating software (firmware) and the drive parameters. Note that being a detachable module minimizes the amount of time it takes to replace the drive because the software module on the old drive can be removed and installed on a new drive. To enhance data exchange, the HDS02.1-W040N-HA02-01-FW supports digital Input Output cards as plugin modules. The cards introduce a bidirectional exchange of data with a PLC or other connected devices on the industrial floor. With 16 outputs and 15 inputs, a single digital Input Output card significantly increases the number of interfaced devices.
Apart from Input Output cards, the HDS02.1-W040N-HA02-01-FW supports interface cards that can be used to interface the drive with incremental systems with either square-wave signal output, sinusoidal signal output, multi-turn absolute encoders, among others. The HDS02.1-W040N-HA02-01-FW has a current rating of 40 Amperes and a permissible operating altitude of up to 1000 meters above sea level.
