The Bosch HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-FW is an industrial drive controller. It is based on an advanced control section that supports encoder emulation. The width of the controller is 130 millimeters and its height is 288 millimeters. The mains connection voltage is 200 to 500 Volts AC (three-phase). Rated output of the HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-FW is 54 Amps. The controller is available in a compact IP20 rated enclosure that is suited to cabinet mounting. Bosch recommends vertical controller mounting by attaching the controller back-side to the mounting surface. In case there is insufficient space between the front of the controller and the cabinet wall, Bosch permits controller mounting by attaching either the left side or the right side of the controller to the mounting surface. In any case, operators must be sure there are no heat-sensitive devices near the back-side of the controller.

This is because the braking resistors at the back of the controller can get very hot during operation. The HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-FW features two multi-encoder interfaces, Multi-Ethernet communication and a safe torque off safety module. Safe torque off is a safety feature on drives that turns off power on the drive output to prevent the motor from producing torque. The controller works with a standard control panel that has a single-line display and a four button keypad. The control panel can be used for controller programming. The display shows operating states, command and error diagnoses and pending warnings. With the keypad, the commissioning engineer or service technician can have extended diagnoses displayed and trigger simple commands. The controller is designed for convection cooling. The heated air is dissipated inside the cabinet. Therefore large cabinets should be used that allow appropriate inter-device spacing.
