These compact units with multiple encoder and multi-protocol support work with other system components to control electric motors and monitor their operations. They are commonly used in robotics and machine tools.
The HCS01.1E-W0028-A-03-B-ET-EC-EC-SB-NN-FW is a model of the HCS drive converters designed by Bosch Rexroth for control sections in the BASIC range. It operates with a three-phase AC mains connecting voltage between 200V and 500V with ±10% tolerance and switching frequencies of 4kHz, 8kHz, 12kHz, and 16kHz. For cooling, it uses forced ventilation, where natural convection supports forced cooling air currents. As a result, the generation of heat pockets is prevented, as well as damage due to thermal overload. Thanks to its compact size, it is installed within a control cabinet per the G1 mounting style, where its cooling also takes place. It can accommodate a maximum current of 28A.
According to EN 60529, the Ingress Protection rating of the HCS01.1E-W0028-A-03-B-ET-EC-EC-SB-NN-FW is IP 20. This indicates that it is touch-proof and safe from the penetration of solid extrinsic materials with diameters over 12mm. It communicates with other system components via a Multi-Ethernet communication module, making it compatible with different Ethernet field bus systems. These include PROFINET IO, EtherCAT, sercos III, and EtherNet/IP. The two multi-encoder interfaces in this HCS model support standard encoder types with supply voltage ratings of 5V and 12V. They include the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with Hiperface, the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1, the MSK motor encoder, and the 5V-TTL square-wave encoder with reference track.
