The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW is modular drive controller. It is designed by Bosch for commercial and industrial applications. Maximum current that controller can deliver is 18 Amps. Full rated output requires optimal operating conditions and 200 to 500 Volts AC input. The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW only works with three-phase input. Optimal operation conditions for HCS controllers include 0 to 40 degrees Celsius temperature and 0 to 1000 meters elevation. The controller output derates linearly between 40 and 55 degrees Celsius. Bosch does not permit HCS controller operation above 55 degrees Celsius. Bosch also does not permit HCS controller operation at elevations in excess of 4000 meters. Relative humidity in the operating environment should be between 5 and 95%. Absolute humidity in the operating environment must be between 1 and 29 g/m3.

The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW is an IP20 rated device that should be installed inside a control cabinet. Operating a control cabinet with a fan, but without the corresponding filters, can damage the devices or cause malfunction. Therefore operators must install filters at the air intake opening of the control cabinet and service the filters at regular intervals according to the dust loading in the environment. The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW supports SERCOS/EtherCat communication. A multi-encoder interface allows controller use with a wide range of servo motors. Safe torque off and safe brake control are supported through an installed plug in module. Operators can use the standard control panel shipped with the controller for programming and parameter monitoring. Only qualified personnel should install, operate and maintain the drive controller.
