The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-B-ET-EC-EM-S5-NN-FW is an 18 Amps rated Bosch HSC series drive controller. It is used for accurate motor control in industrial and commercial applications. Typical applications for HCS controllers include handling and mounting systems, packaging and food machines and machine tools. Each HCS controller comes with a control panel that allows easy monitoring and configuration. Bosch provides two types of control panels: advanced and standard. The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-B-ET-EC-EM-S5-NN-FW comes with a standard control panel that does not support hot plug. Firmware for the controller must be ordered separately. Bosch has designed the controller for vertical mounting inside a control cabinet. The preferred mounting method is by attachment of the controller rear side to the mounting surface. Bosch also allows attachment of either the left or right sides of the controller to the mounting surface.
Braking resistors at the back of HCS controllers can get very hot during operation. When arranging the devices in the control cabinet, operators must make sure there are no heat-sensitive materials close to the braking resistors. The working temperature range for rated output is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The ambient temperature range for derated output is 40 to 55 degrees Celsius. Bosch does not permit use of HCS controllers at temperatures above 55 degrees Celsius. The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-B-ET-EC-EM-S5-NN-FW supports integrated Multi-Ethernet communication. An integrated multi-encoder interface is also installed on the unit. The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-B-ET-EC-EM-S5-NN-FW also supports safe motion, safety technology designed to provide enhanced safety and protection for motion control systems by detecting and preventing potential hazards and dangerous situations. Safe motion technology uses a variety of sensors and control devices to monitor the motion of machine components. When a hazard is detected, the system can take a variety of actions to mitigate the risk, such as stopping the motion of the machine or slowing it down.
