The Bosch HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-A-CC-EC-PB-S4-NN-FW is a modular drive controller. It has several slots that operators can use for plug in modules. The controller has several factory-installed plug in modules. The master controller on the unit is SERCOS master that operators can use for cross-connections. The controller is also equipped with a Profibus module that allows the controller to be connected to Profibus networks. A multi-encoder interface allows controller use with motors equipped with a wide range of encoders. A safety module installed on the controller supports safe motion. The maximum connection voltage is 200 to 500 Volts AC (three-phase). The maximum current output is 8 Amps. Bosch provides the controller in an IP20 rated housing. The controller cools via forced air cooling. The minimum recommended spacing for the top and bottom sides of the mounted controller is 90 millimeters.

The minimum recommended spacing for the front side of the mounted controller is 10 millimeters. The back-side mounting (back of device directly mounted to mounting surface in control cabinet) is the standard and should be used, if possible. The left-hand or right-hand mounting (left or right side of device directly mounted to mounting surface in control cabinet) can be used, if the mounting clearance between control cabinet wall and control cabinet front is not sufficient for back-side mounting. At the back of the controller there are braking resistors which can become very hot during operation. When arranging the devices in the control cabinet, operators must make sure there are no heat-sensitive materials close to the braking resistors. In the case of left-hand or right-hand mounting, operators must not pile the devices. Each device must have immediate contact to the control cabinet wall.
