All drive converters in the HCS series of Bosch Rexroth’s IndraDrive Cs family are built to support all standard encoder types with their impressive multi-encoder interface. They are components of the Rexroth IndraDrive drive system with multi-protocol support for multiple applications. Their typical applications include general automation, handling systems, machine tools, and printing and paper processing machines.

The HCS01.1E-W0006-A-02-A-CC-EC-CN-L4-NN-FW is a model of the Bosch Rexroth HCS drive converters. It has a maximum current rating of 6A and is operated with a three-phase AC voltage between 110V and 230V. Designed for control sections with the ADVANCED design, it communicates using a sercos module, which also serves as a master for cross communication. The multi-encoder interface in the drive converter makes it compatible with a wide range of standard encoders. They include the MSM motor encoder, the 1 Vpp sin-cos encoder with EnDat 2.1, the MSK motor encoder, the MS2N motor encoder, and the 5V-TTL square-wave encoder with reference track.

Heat elimination from the HCS01.1E-W0006-A-02-A-CC-EC-CN-L4-NN-FW is via natural convection. Because it has a particularly compact build, it can be easily mounted within a control cabinet following the G1 style. This allows natural convection to support forced air cooling currents that prevent pockets of heat from being generated. The safety technology module of this HCS model is Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Brake Control (SBC). There is also a CANopen interface in the drive converter. According to EN 60529, this unit has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20, meaning it is impermeable to solid extrinsic objects with diameters over 12mm. Ideally, it should be operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 40oC.
