The Bosch DDS03.1-W030-DC01-00 is the basic unit for a DDS series controller. The components of a complete DDS controller include the basic unit, controller firmware, and optional plug in modules. The basic unit includes slots for plug in modules. The basic unit has five slots. Two of the slots are reserved for a software module and a command communication module. The remaining three slots are available for plug in modules. Customers need to select firmware according to application requirements. The modular DDS controllers allow adaptation to numerous applications. Command communication module installed on the DDS03.1-W030-DC01-00 supports Interbus-S. Other options for command communication are SERCOS and analog. The controller also supports digital servo feedback. This feature allows the controller to receive feedback from a compatible servo motor. The controller compares feedback from the motor with programmed motor parameter values.
A difference between measured and desired values leads to adjustment of the controller output. This process continues for as long as the controller and motor operate. The current output of the DDS03.1-W030-DC01-00 is 30 Amps. Under specified ambient conditions, the controller operates with rated output. Under non-specified ambient conditions, the controller operates with derated output. Specified ambient conditions include maximum 95% relative humidity, 0 to 100 meters elevation and 0 to 45 degrees Celsius temperature. The controller dissipates heat generated during operation inside the control cabinet. As a result, large cabinets or air conditioning may be required. DDS controllers with heat sinks are also available. The input voltage rating of the DDS03.1-W030-DC01-00 is 24 Volts DC. Bosch recommends use of power supplies with regulated DC output. Trained and experienced personnel should install the controller and other related equipment.
