The DDS drive controllers are sophisticated drive control units in the INDRAMAT DDS drive system. A configured DDS drive controller consists of the drive controller - basic unit, firmware, software modules, and plugin modules. Examples of its uses include textile machines, robotics, handling machines, and printing and packaging machines.
The DDS02.2-W100-BE79-01-FW is a drive controller of the DDS series. It is a second-edition product, and it features a peak current of 100A. It is equipped with a SERCOS interface which offers input for evaluating reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. It also employs heat technology as a cooling system where the airflow is within the control cabinet. As a result, the drive controller is to be installed in a large control cabinet. Common to DDS drive controllers, this device can only be connected with only INDRAMAT supply units with a controlled DC 24V voltage. It also uses the INDRAMAT motor power cable to connect to AC motors such as the MDD, LAR, and MKD motors. This cable features three lines for motor power connection and a shielded pair of cables for motor temperature monitoring.
Firmware use is permitted in the DDS02.2-W100-BE79-01-FW, which is to be updated regularly to maintain the efficiency of the drive controller. The controller is compatible only with motors with digital servo feedback or resolver feedback encoders. According to EN 60529, It is a product of protection class IP 20; hence it offers total protection against penetration by external solid objects with a diameter of 12mm or more. To obtain maximum productivity, this device is to be operated in an environment with a temperature of 45°C or less.
