The Bosch DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW is an advanced digital drive controller. It operates at 24 Volts DC input. Multiple DDS controllers can operate from the power supplied by a single power supply. DDS controllers are designed for use with only regulated power supplies. The DC bus voltage on the controller is 300 Volts DC. Any personnel performing drive maintenance must provide sufficient time for the DC bus to discharge completely. Severe injury or death due to electric shock can occur if this precaution is not implemented. Nominal output current of the DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW is 50 Amps. The rated output is valid for ambient conditions that comply with manufacturer recommendations. The conditions specified in the product documentation are 0 to 45 degrees Celsius and 0 to 1000 meters elevation. Operation of the DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW outside these conditions leads to output derating and can also lead to equipment damage.
The DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW controller supports two motor feedback methods which are resolver feedback and digital servo feedback. Each DDS controller is shipped with a command control module. The drive firmware is ordered separately. The installed firmware can be identified by the firmware type plate which is attached to the controller. The DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW dissipates heated air inside the cabinet. DDS controllers that include a heat sink and dissipate heat outside the cabinet are also available and can be ordered if required. The DDS02.2-W050-BE78-00-FW weights approximately 7.5 kilograms. It is designed for vertical mounting. To minimize installation and wiring errors, only trained personnel should handle and install the controller and associated machinery.
