Drive packages that require single supply units are obtained when AC servo and main drives are combined with the DDS drive controllers. Together, they form the modular DDS drive system used for a wide range of applications. These include handling machines, robotics, textile machines, and printing and packaging machines. The drive controllers can also function as rapid-response drives with some AC motors.
The DDS02.2-W050-BE23-00 is one of the drive controllers in the modular DDS system designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. This Version 2 model can be connected to all Indramat supply units with a regulated DC 24V voltage, just like others in the series. Its cooling is achieved with heat technology, where the heat generated during the operation of the drive controller is dissipated within its control cabinet. The control cabinet also houses the connected supply unit and has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 10 according to EN 60529. Hence, it will not admit solid external objects over 50mm.
Motors with digital servo feedback and resolver feedback can be connected to the DDS02.2-W050-BE23-00. Its command communication plug-in module is SERCOS, and it uses a fiber optic cable for data exchange to be done securely and quickly. This plugin module also provides inputs that are used to evaluate reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. The rated current for the operation of the drive controller is 50A, and its designated DC bus voltage rating is 300V with an allowance of ±15%. With its rated data, the permitted ambient temperature for the operation of the drive controller is between 0oC and 45oC. It should also be installed at a maximum height of 1000m.
