They are used in textile machines, robotics, and printing and packaging machines.

The DDS02.2-W015-BE12-01-FW is a digital drive controller in Bosch Rexroth’s DDS series. It has a SERCOS interface plugin module that allows it to be used to operate digital drives whose controls are compatible with the bus system. The connection of the drive controller to such drives is achieved using a fiber optic cable; hence data can be exchanged safely and rapidly. The SERCOS module also aids the evaluation of sensor inputs, travel range limit switches, and reference switches by providing inputs for these. Motors with either digital servo feedback or resolver feedback can be operated using this drive controller.

With the heat technology cooling mechanism of the DDS02.2-W015-BE12-01-FW, heat is effectively dissipated from the device. The cooling airflow is within the control cabinet housing the drive controller; hence the use of air conditioning may be required. However, it requires minimal mounting and installation efforts. The control cabinet also houses the supply unit used with the drive controller and has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 10 according to EN 60529. This means that it will not admit solid objects with a 50mm diameter or more. The rated current for the drive controller’s operation is 15A, and its designated DC bus voltage rating is 300V with a ±15% allowance.
