The DDS drive controller has a modular design that allows flexible combination with AC servo and main drives in a compact drive package that uses one supply unit. It becomes a rapid response drive when used together with the MDD, MKD, and LAR AC motors. They are used in machine tools, textile, printing and packaging machinery, robotics, and handling machines. The drive controllers are made up of the basic unit of the drive controller, plugin modules, software modules, and firmware (in the software and plugin modules).
Motor feedback of the DDS02.1-W200-DS45-01-FW is via the Digital Servo Feedback, and the communication interface is via the SERCOS interface, which is controlled with fiber optic cables. The drive controller has a rated current of 200 A and should be connected to an Indramat supply unit with a regulated DC 24 V voltage. Different functions of the DDS02.1-W200-DS45-01-FW require a software module that contains both the firmware and drive parameters. With the software module, the already saved parameters can be used with another unit. The firmware fixes the functional features of the drive controller and must be ordered as a separate subitem.
The DDS02.1-W200-DS45-01-FW and its supply unit are designed for mounting into a control cabinet or closed housing. The control cabinet meets the requirements of protection class IP 10 according to DIN 40 050; hence it is protected against penetration by solid extrinsic objects with a diameter of over 50 mm. However, the control cabinet is not protected against penetration of water and intentional access by hand. Heat is lost from the drive controller by heat technology, meaning that heat is dissipated within the control cabinet.
