The Bosch DDS02.1-W100-DS63-01-FW is a DDS series digital intelligent AC servo drive controller with SERCOS interface. It is a microprocessor-controlled brushless drive with excellent servo control characteristics. Typical applications for DDS drives include grinding machines, assembly equipment, woodworking machines and packaging machines. A signal processor on the DDS02.1-W100-DS63-01-FW performs all control, monitoring and diagnostics functions. DDS drives can be supplied with either of three interfaces that include SERCOS, analog and single-axis positioning. DDS drives with SERCOS interface enable the operation of AC servo motors that are equipped with SERCOS interfaces. SERCOS is a serial communication standard for real-time data communication. Data rates supported by SERCOS are 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps. Upgraded versions of SERCOS support up to 100 Mbps data rates. The medium used by SERCOS for data transmission is fiber optic cable.
The nodes on a SERCOS network are linked in a ring topology. The advantage offered by this topology is that communication continues even if a single fiber is cut or if a single node is disabled due to any reason. The hardware of the DDS02.1-W100-DS63-01-FW is comprised of a basic unit that has five slots for modules. Three slots on the basic unit can be used for plug in modules to adapt the controller to customer requirements. One slot is reserved for a software module and one slot is reserved for a communication module. Rated output of the DDS02.1-W100-DS63-01-FW is 100 Amps. The controller supports digital servo feedback. The DDS02.1-W100-DS63-01-FW controller uses air from inside the cabinet for cooling. This means that large cabinet or air conditioning may be required for the maintenance of ambient temperature. The working temperature range for the DDS02.1-W100-DS63-01-FW is 0 to 45 degrees Celsius.
