The Bosch DDS02.1-W100-DS63-00-FW is a modular drive controller. It is used for motor control in industrial applications. The basic unit of DDS controllers has a total of five slots. Two of these are reserved slots and three can be used for optional plug in modules. One of the reserved slots can accommodate a software module. The drive firmware and parameters are stored in the software module. In case of drive failure, the module can be removed and installed in a replacement drive. This allows for rapid commissioning of the replacement drive and therefore reduces the amount of downtime caused by a failed drive. The other reserved slot can accommodate a command and communications modules. The command and communications module installed on the DDS02.1-W100-DS63-00-FW is SERCOS. DDS drives can also be ordered with analog and single axis positioning modules.
