The DDS02.1-W100-DS61-00-FW is a basic unit for DDS digital drive controllers. Bosch has designed DDS drives with modular hardware and software. The modular basic unit allows installation of up to three optional modules. The firmware can be ordered with different features sets that are optimized for different applications. In this way DDS controllers can be adapted to a wide range of applications. DDC controllers are used to control compatible motors that include products from the MDD, MKD, LAC product lines. Typical applications for DDS motors include packaging machinery, robotics and handling machines. The communication module installed on the DDS02.1-W100-DS61-00-FW is SERCOS, which is a standard for real-time serial communication. SERCOS allows control equipment to communicate over fiber optic cables at 2 / 4 Mbps data rates. The fiber cables are deployed in ring topology which provides redundancy for single fiber cuts / single node failures.
