The Bosch DDS02.1-W025-DL20-00 is an advanced drive controller. It is compatible with MDD/MKD synchronous motors and LAR/LAF linear inductance motors. The combination of motors and the DDS controller is well suited to industrial applications such as textiles, machine tools, robotics and handling machines. The DDS02.1-W025-DL20-00 can be powered from regulated 24 Volts DC supplies. A configured DDS drive has four main components that are a basic unit, a software module, optional plug in modules and firmware. All the hardware and software is modular which leads to a highly flexible drive system. Bosch provides multiple firmware that are optimized for different requirements. Similarly, different plug in modules can be installed for matching different customer requirements. The communication module installed on the DDS02.1-W025-DL20-00 is a single-axis position control module. The rated output of the drive is 25 Amps.
The rated current is only available at the drive output if ambient conditions recommended by Bosch are maintained. These include temperatures below 45 degrees Celsius and altitudes below 1000 meters. The drive output derates outside these specified ambient conditions. Operation of the DDS02.1-W025-DL20-00 is permitted with derated values at temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius and altitudes of up to 5000 meters. The DDS02.1-W025-DL20-00 supports digital servo feedback. The ability to accept motor feedback enables closed-loop control where the drive is able to continuously monitor motor parameters and adjust its output accordingly. The DDS02.1-W025-DL20-00 is convection-cooled device. Therefore smooth airflow should be ensured to prevent drive overheating. The protection rating of the drive enclosure is IP20. Proper installation is a pre-requisite for safe and reliable drive operation. Bosch recommends that drive installation should be performed by qualified personnel only.
