The Bosch CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD1-S2-S-NN-FW is a CSH series digital control unit. It is the information-processing part of IndraDrive controllers. The other components of IndraDrive controllers are a power section, control unit firmware and an optional control panel. As per the usual practice, Bosch supplies IndraDrive controllers as completely configured and assembled units. At times the components are supplies as separate items. In such cases, a technician has to assemble the controller. Controller assembly involves mounting the control unit onto the power section. To prevent any damage to either the power section or the control unit, Bosch has set a limit on the number of times that a power section and control unit can be assembled or disassembled. This limit is set to 20. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD1-S2-S-NN-FW is a modular device with slots that accommodate optional modules. The firmware for the unit comes separately.
The CSH01.1 series of advanced and configurable control units has four slots for optional modules. Some modules are preinstalled and some may be installed later by customers. The pre-installed modules on the CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD1-S2-S-NN-FW unit are an encoder module with EnDat 2.1 interface in slot 1, a digital I/O extension module in slot 3, and a safe motion safety module in slot 4. Each control unit also features a master communication module, which in case of the CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD1-S2-S-NN-FW is SERCOS III. This module enables fast communication between compatible devices. The SERCOS III standard is compatible with Ethernet, and supports 100 Mbps full-duplex communication. Operators can only use one type of control panel to configure the CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD1-S2-S-NN-FW: a standard control panel. This type of control panel does not support hot swap. Therefore operators should connect it to the control unit before it is powered on.
