The Bosch CSH01.1C-PL-ENS-NNN-MD1-L2-S-NN-FW is a digital control unit. An IndraDrive controller is comprised of a control unit, control unit firmware, and a power section. Bosch develops several types of control units including basic, basic universal, and advanced. The CSH01.1C-PL-ENS-NNN-MD1-L2-S-NN-FW is an advanced control unit. It is optimized for single-axis applications. The types of control units differ with regard to configurability, available interfaces and cycle times/switching frequencies (pulse frequencies). A type plate is attached to the control unit for identification purposes. It lists the type code, serial number and other relevant information. At the time of delivery, customers should check the type plate to ensure that the correct equipment is delivered. A firmware type plate lists the version of the firmware that is installed on the control unit. The CSH series control unit has a modular architecture.

Slots on the control unit can accommodate a wide range of optional plug in modules. Three modules are pre-installed on the CSH01.1C-PL-ENS-NNN-MD1-L2-S-NN-FW. These include an encoder IndraDyn module, a digital I/O extension module and a safety module. The safety module supports safe torque off.
