The Bosch Rexroth CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW is a control section. It plugs into a power section: the combination of both units forms a IndraDrive controller. The power section delivers 24 Volts DC supply to the control section. The number of times that the CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW is allowed to be plugged/unplugged from a control section is 20. This limit has been set by Bosch to protect both the control section and power section from damage.  The firmware for the CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW must be ordered separately. The unit is only compatible with a standard control panel and cannot be used with a comfort control panel. To ensure that it is detected, the control panel has to be connected to the CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW before the unit is powered on. The control panel is not hot-swappable i.e. it does not support connection or disconnection from the control section while the control section is powered on.

The CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW is an advanced and configurable control section. The master communication option on the unit is Multi-Ethernet. Three slots are available on the unit for plug-in modules and one slot is available for a safety module. Two plug-in modules are installed on the CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW including one IndraDyn encoder module that has a Hiperface interface and one digital I/O extension module that also supports a SSI encoder interface. The slot for the safety module on the CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW is empty. Safety modules that are supported by CSH01.1 control sections include safe motion, safe torque off, safety technology I/O and starting lockout. All the slots for the optional and safety modules are located on the front panel of the unit. One slot for a removable memory card is also available on the front panel of the CSH01.1C-ET-ENS-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW control section.
