The integration of various controllers, modules, and PLC units via a single interface was the motivation for designing the BTV30 series of machine terminal controls. Produced/manufactured by Rexroth, this kind-of industrial computer offers a lot of extra functionalities or over-clocking for its attached modules/components.
In general, the BTV30 control terminals are very fast in application, while durable and reliable for high-end automation requirements. With an a fast 300-400Mhz of processing power, this unit can handle multiple I/O requests easily. Almost like a regular PC, it comes with its own 64/124 Mb RAM for handling real-time processing and a 3Gb+ hard disk drive capacity for saving process information, programs, and other Important data. For a more specific application, the BTV30 allows configuration/ customizations in its type code specifications to ensure high-end performance. For the CFG-BTV30.2C-TC-B1-2F-A2-A2-A2-2C-NN-1T, only one slot is available for further customization and this is indicated by the ‘NN’ in the code.
The occupied slots suggest a few attributes: a keyboard interface for sending commands to the attached controllers, an installed master module for INTERBUS, a dual type PLC module (MTS-P02.2-D2) with 2 MB-RAM, a 3 axis-processor module with co-processors, an MTC-P01.2M CNC module (with 8 axes and 2MB-RAM), and an Ethernet card. Also, as part of its general requirements, this interface requires an operating input voltage between 115 – 230 V AC. For the output, it can drive with a current of up to 3.0A when using the 230V supply, or about 6A on a 115V supply. To ensure proper protection from various operating modes and ambience, this unit comes with protections. It features an IP65 protection for the front panel, and a housing IP 20 protection according to the DIN 40 050 and IEC 529 standards.
