Product Description
The high-speed spindle motors of the ADS series are ultra-modern devices designed to function as rotating direct drives in machine tools. They are characterized by an asynchronous motor kit and a high-resolution motor encoder. They also feature an optional hollow shaft for tool cooling lubricant and a precision spindle bearing arrangement.
The ADS160C-B05TB1-ASF3-K2S5 is a model of the spindle motors ADS produced by INDRAMAT. It can be connected with various drive controllers and requires a matching cable for each controller. During operations, heat is eliminated in this motor by permanent cooling, and this is achieved by connecting it to external cooling systems. The required ambient temperature for its operation is between 0oC and 45oC, while its Ingress Protection class is IP 54. Similar to other ADS motors, rotating unions are screwed into the B side of the motor, which is its rear side. To prevent thermal overload, it features inbuilt temperature sensors. They can be connected through the power cable or encoder cable, depending on the type of drive controller in use.
The ideal storage for the ADS160C-B05TB1-ASF3-K2S5 is a clean, dry environment to protect the motor against damage by humidity, corrosion, and contamination. To maintain functionality during long storage, it also requires a frequent run-in sequence. This motor is best transported securely within the wooden box it is delivered in from the factory. Indramat also recommends that during transport, the shaft and the housing of this motor be protected from any form of mechanical shock and crash. For protection against electric shock, it is equipped with Protective Extra Low Voltage (PELV) systems which include all terminals and connections with a voltage of 5V to 50V. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
