Manufactured by Rexroth Indramat, the ADF160C-B05TA3-BS03-B2N1 is a flange mounted main spindle motor. Its power connector is positioned above it and the output direction of the power connector is through the terminal box side A. It has high resolution motor feedback functioning at 1/2000000th revolution and comes with shaft balanced with entire key and no sealing ring. The ADF160C-B05TA3-BS03-B2N1 is equipped with standard bearing and falls in R balance class.
The motor should be stored within temperatures ranging between -25 degrees Celsius and 85 Celsius; operational temperatures should be limited within 0-45 degrees Celsius. There are no altitude limits for installation as the motor is liquid cooled. The ADF160C-B05TA3-BS03-B2N1, in conjunction with drive controllers features broad speed ranges and field weakening range of 1:6. The main spindle motor also includes the power connection with integrated NTC thermistor connection, holding brake connection and motor feedback connection. The NTC thermistor is built into the motor windings and protects the motor against overheating.
The output shaft with key is specialized for form-fitting shaft-hub connection. The rotor is balanced with the full key in the shaft-hub assembly. The keyway in the hub is not dependent upon the length of the key. The standard bearing comes lubricated with a multipurpose lubricant that also serves to dissipate friction generated heat. The lubricant is rated for 20000 hours of service life but non-conformant loading and overloading can reduce it. The standard bearing assembly can also be anticipated to have longer working life if operated within safe limits. The ADF 160 can also be ordered with integral holding brakes which can either be electrically engaged clamp or release.
