Product Description
The industrial automation space has seen improvements in motors and drives/controllers. For the motors, the entrance of Rexroth ADF main spindle motors introduced new possibilities in driving applications used in printing, textile, and other industrial machines. These motors are available with a plain output shaft for applications requiring friction-locked shaft-hub connections. Also, some ADF main spindle motors feature an output shaft with key to provide a form-fitting shaft-hub connection. Note that a motor with an output shaft with key is meant for connections that deal with torques of a constant direction.
The ADF134D-B05TA3-BS27-A2N1 is an ADF main spindle motor manufactured by Rexroth. It is designed for flange mounting in environments with a surrounding temperature ranging from 5.0 degrees Celsius to 40.0 degrees Celsius. To enable the motor to have a high performance, it is liquid cooled. The ADF134D-B05TA3-BS27-A2N1 has a holding brake with a toque rating of 30 N-m and whose release is electrically actuated. The brake has a nominal connect voltage of 24 Volts +-10 percent, a nominal current of 1.3 Amperes, and a moment of inertia of 0.0018 kilograms meter (squared). When braking the axis, the brake wears down after 20,000 motor revolutions.
Note that the brake is meant to hold the motor’s shaft while at standstill to prevent accidental revolutions. The motor’s feedback comprises of a digital servo feedback with an integrated multi-turn absolute encoder. Unlike single-turn encoders, multi-turn encoders are capable of measuring not only the total number of rotations but also the degree of rotation. In a servo motors, multi-turn encoders are essential when the interfaced application involves offset coordinated axes. The Rexroth ADF134D-B05TA3-BS27-A2N1 has standard bearings, no side B shaft end, and a plain shaft that does not include a shaft sealing. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
