The flange and foot mounting are two forms of installation used in the arrangement of motors and other rotary devices in the industrial system. Each of these mounting styles has various advantages based on the diverse applications. Flange mounting is the process of coupling the motor to a surface that aids in correct orientation. This style is useful in those applications where the position of the motor has to be fixed. Its flange design also permits direct installation into the equipment in various areas, particularly in compact locations. It also minimizes vibrations and increases the strength of the motor.

On the other hand, Foot mounting style is used where more support and stability is needed. The motor is installed with the help of the base or foot of the motor, which screws directly onto the equipment. This mounting style is common in applications where there is a high load on the motor; thus offers a secure method for motor placement.
