For cooling the motor has an axial blower that requires 170 volts to operate. In the blower design, the airflow is channeled from the A side of the motor to the B side in order to control the temperature of the motor and make sure it is within the right range. Importantly, there is no electrically released holding brake in the motor design. This brake would most commonly be employed to lock the main spindle whenever the drive is not in operation, or the spindle is stationary. However, the motor has a digital servo motor feedback that gives the motor an ability of detecting relative indirect position and hence improve its precision and reliability in operations. The output shaft has a plain shaft with shaft sealing used at the output shaft to increase versatility and protection.
This AC motor has been designed to work in the temperature range of 0 to 45 degrees centigrade and this motor is suitable for installation in areas with an altitude of up to 1000 meters above sea level.
