The 2AD132B-B05OB2-BS03/S013 is a general purpose squirrel cage induction motor which has been developed to meet the needs of both spindle and servo applications. This motor is from the AD series which is developed by the Bosch Group of companies to cater the needs of the modern industrial applications. The versatility that comes from it being both a spindle motor and a servo motor make it a very dependable motor. For spindle applications, this motor performs very well in speed and control which are important for operations such as cutting, drilling and milling. The motor provides high torque and excellent speed control to meet different load requirements to deliver smooth operations. This makes it one of the best materials to be used in machine tools where accuracy and reliability are of great importance. In servo applications, this motor shows a high degree of accuracy and quick response. It has very effective feedback systems which make it easy to control the position and speed especially for applications that need high levels of accuracy such as robotics, packaging machines and automated assembly lines. This also means that the blower must not be placed in close contact with other objects with a distance of less than 80mm. This guarantees that air can freely flow through the motor without being restricted in any way hence increasing the cooling efficiency of the motor. It therefore means that in order to ensure that the blower and the motor is properly maintained then regular maintenance is required. Dirt and other particles that may stick to the blower will hinder the efficient functioning of the motor and may result in poor cooling and overheating of the motor. If no regular maintenance is carried out, it will lead to irreversible damages of the motor, thus affecting its effectiveness and durability.
